friendly materials to produce our customers publications. These
materials are chosen with the utmost care, from
recycled paper stocks to non-hazardous printing
inks, and presswash.
Currently we recycle
prepress chemicals, presswash, printing plates,

trimmings each week.
Supporting the Next Generation
of Printers:
Looking towards the
future of print in our rapidly changing society,
St. Croix Press, Inc. participates in a youth
apprenticeship program with the State of Wisconsin.
A local high school student is chosen to spend
part of the school day during their Junior and
Senior years learning about and taking part in
the printing process. During the course of over
900 hours, they train in every department of
our plant. At the end of the apprenticeship,
they write, design, and produce a four-color,
multiple page booklet about the experience.
Upon completion of the
program, they receive college credits applicable
to a number of area technical schools or the
four-year program in Graphic Communications Management
at the University of Wisconsin – Stout in Menomonie.
St. Croix Press, Inc. also created the Irene Boor/St.
Croix Press, Inc. Memorial Scholarship in the
amount of $1,000. It honors a very dedicated employee
of 23 years who passed away in 1999 after a very
long and courageous battle with Lymphoma. The
scholarship is awarded to the graduating youth
apprentice.
